1. Daily my mother traveled up the street to the Dollar Store or I trudged to the elementary school behind her home to pull out empty boxes from their trash and recycling bins.

I’ve been at mama’s helping her pack for about a month. I’ve tried and tried to pinpoint something different or green that we’ve been doing here. But mostly we’ve just been packing (in boxes we already had, mama got from work, or I’ve pulled out of recycling bins, yay.) And cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Trying to use up the cleaning products that are at the end.

These reusable bags aren’t as sturdy as the canvas bags. They are great…..until they tear. 😦

So, there is this huge pile of sticks and leaves in the back yard. I have no idea how long it’s been there. Years? It’s right along the edge of the woods. While Mr. Wonderful mowed the grass, I broke up sticks so we could create a fire and placed the leaves in the diaper compost. Lo and behold, look what we found!

I thought the baby would add all sorts of environmental things to write about. Not so. She’s made relatively little difference in our green lifestyle.
I think home cooking is green. In the spirit of cooking at home, I’m adding random recipes of food I make, other than my crock pot meals I document on my G.I. Crockpot blog, (which I mainly use as a recipe box for myself). I try to add simple, easy and quick meals. If they don’t have those three adjectives, I probably won’t make it.
My husband’s hobby is composting. Mine is trying to find different ways to reuse. It is so much fun, it should be illegal.
