Can’t recycle it? Terracycle it.

Terracycle is yet another resource to help with zero waste for the days when… well, we’re just not so perfect and give in to the chip bag. I know I’ve written about it before, but I tell ya, even through all this moving, it’s one thing I’ve kept up with.

(My dad even keeps all his non-recyclable trash for me and I send his in with mine. Thanks daddy!)

This company is amazing. They recycle things that are not easily recycled (even cigarette butts ) and make items from them. The company pays to have these articles shipped to them and much of the money they make is given to charities and schools.

If you’re interested, check out their video. They explain it better than I do. And  they may have a company near you, no matter what country you live in!

Things they take: diaper packaging, cheese packaging, pens and markers that don’t work.

Now that she’s older, she helps me sort. It’s so nice to have two extra little hands.

Tell me, have you heard of Terra cycle?

  1. did you know that it takes 50 years for a diaper to disintegrate..those shop ones I mean like Pampers..isn’t that terrible. i am sure that they could find a way of making them more disposable

  2. No, I haven’t heard of terra Cycle, no wonder you’re tired . . just saying

  3. Glad to hear you are still at it, and that you have your little helper in training!

  4. You are an awesome mom! Terrecycling is a wonderful thing, but it takes a dedicated person (with extra time ta boot) to spear-head it. Collecting these items from other folks who don’t want to be inconvenienced goes a long way. Thanks for what you do. 😀

  5. I Totally Know About Terra Cycle!!! Hi! Deb Seymour of debgoesgreen.com.
I started using Terracycle last year in my efforts to get my monthly non-recylable, non-compostable trash down to only one Mason Jar A Month.
(yes I am a Bea Johnson fan!)

I am curious about all your sorting: did you know TerraCycle offers a “No-Sort Box” option? You just toss everything they accept into a pre-labled box
(theirs) and it and send. Our houshold is small enough that it didnt make sense to send everything in separately.

    Keep up the good work!

    Deb:-)

    • Deb–I did use that for a long while, but there were so many things they wouldn’t accept, I just kept sorting. I thought they canceled the no-sort-box option a while back. I’ll have to recheck on this because it would save me loads of time! Thank you so much for sharing this!!

Tell me what you think. I don't get to answer comments like I did before baby but I read every single comment. And they really make my day!
